I never ventured there while I explored my sexuality. Worried about police busts, rattlesnakes, scorpions, and more, I preferred the safer environs of dorm rooms and cheap motels.
One wonders why anyone in free countries like the US or UK would bother with outdoor hookup spots today, given gay love is legal and can be enjoyed in the privacy of your home. My boyfriend is from an Eastern European country where same-sex relationships are verboten, so men loving men must often do so in remote parks, where they are sometimes discovered and terrorized by government-sanctioned thugs.
In free countries, perhaps some lads just like to do it in the woods for the joy of something different. Whatever floats your boat is all that matters, as long as all participants are of lawful consent.

Most of my same-sex sexual encounters when I was exploring my sexuality in graduate school were in a secluded, wooded section of Schenley Park in Pittsburgh. I had some good times, good memories, and good friends from those encounters, but I also got the clap there, too, so not all my memories were positive.

They're so similar. I like it, tho!
ReplyDeleteI remember Griffith Park back a few years ago when you could cruise through it. I was living up in the hills at that time and Id occasionally cruise through it just to see what was going on. I never stopped or got out but I will tell you there use to be quite a bit of activity up there around those bends in the road. They stopped all that a number of years ago BUT back in the day .. ..yeah. . .it was fun to drive though and maybe see something hot that would make you wanna stop. hehe. Things were much more fun back then I think.
