Jon-Erik

Jon-Erik Hexum was an American actor who died tragically because of a freak prank in 1984 a few weeks before he turned 27.

When I was fifteen, I realized I was not straight because of him. I had a huge crush on "Jack," as he was known to friends, helped in part because he appeared in the rather homoerotic television series Voyagers! which featured a handsome, often bare-chested time-traveler who befriended an awkward, bookish teenage boy. He also played the male lead in the campy TV movie Making of a Male Model with Joan Collins and was starring in the action-adventure series Cover Up at the time of his death.

I've met a few people who knew him, and they all said he was an incredibly sweet, warm bloke. He was straight but very gay friendly. I often wonder if my weakness for blue-eyed men is because of him.

I think the fifth picture below is the best of the lot. That's what he must've looked like after particularly intense sex. These are all large images and not widely found on the Internet, so be sure to click to see them full-sized.

  3. I remember wanting to be that little kid from Voyagers just to be near this guy. Such a tragic loss, but he did donate his organs so he is still around kinda...

  5. I totally remember the movie he had JUST finished wrapping before his life came to a tragic end. If I'm not mistaken, he and another male celebrity had been mucking around with a gun loaded with 'blanks'...or something like that?!?! Anyway,, I would venture to say that this man was highly influential in regards to many, many gay men's coming-out process...I readily admit to jacking-off NUMEROUS times fantasizing about him...EXCELLENT POST mate!!!!

They just don't make them like that anymore. I am told that JEH did a playgirl spread months before he died. Would anyone have those pics?

Are we SURE he wasn't gay? I thought the guy who took over his part was his lover. I mean 27 is still pretty young and it was the 1980s when gay wasn't exactly "in" or easy to admit to. He did die before Rock Hudson did, which was 1985 when finally AIDS was put in the spotlight because of Rock's death.

Either way, I did see some youtubes of him and he appeared to be a good actor working on his craft.

Wow,, wish we had that now what with reality shows being about pathetic people with no real talent.

I heard that the man who received Jon-Erik's heart also passed not long ago, so Jon-Erik truly is dead now. Sad.

  15. wasn't it a starter pistol in the parking lot?
(he was like a total Breck guy, if only Breck had used guys)

Cover Up was genius, and the Joan Collins made-for-TV romp Making Of A Male Model still plays at odd hours on odd channels.

He was on his way to being a superstar. That voice, that chest, that face - he was the total package of manliness. Check out his Merv Griffin interview on youtube (you can see Merv is just dying!) I was so sad when he died - like many of you, he was an early major crush. To this day, I think he was something very, very special.
