First Roommate

September is here so that means scores of young men and women are heading off to college and university campuses for their freshman year, that bridge between childhood and adulthood. Some will experience educational opportunities beyond their wildest dreams.

Some will experiment with alcohol and controlled substances for the first time. Some will experience sexual pleasures after they lose their virginity. Some men will bed down with women.

And some men will bed down with men, perhaps for the first time in their lives. Many of those men, however, will be paired with hetero roommates who have no interest in a walk on the wild side.

A few fortunate young men will experience gay love for their first time, and the object of their affection and lust will be none other than the male with whom they were randomly paired as roommates.

When I was in college, two lads who happened to be gay were paired with each other in the same room. The rest, as they say, was history. Last I heard, they're still together a quarter century later.

The two lads in these pictures reminded me of those two I knew long ago. How and when they fell into bed together might have looked something like this.
