Connecting the Dots

Yesterday, Robert Mueller and other federal prosecutors made three important court filings against two of Donald Trump's key associates in their sentencing proceedings: Michael Cohen, his former lawyer and fixer, and Paul Manafort, his former campaign chairman.

To help navigate a way through all the reportage on the matters, the Washington Post helpfully published an article (link here) with the title "Five big takeaways from the new Michael Cohen and Paul Manafort filings."

Two of these bear consideration here. The second one concludes: "The government has implicated Trump in Cohen’s crimes." And the fourth one notes: "Mueller appears to be keying on Russia ties in Trump’s business."

One gets the sense there's still more of the Russian iceberg under the sea. Trump ridiculously tweeted last night that he's totally vindicated by yesterday's filings, which is patently ludicrous. Is he lying to himself, his supporters, or both?

Stay tuned.
