Documented Lies

Republicans unveiled a healthcare "reform" plan last week that's supposed to "fix" President Obama's Affordable Care Act (ACA).

All but the most partisan GOP hacks dismissed the proposal as vastly inferior to what we have now and really nothing more than a massive tax cut for the wealthy with a healthcare rollback for everyone else.

It's the proverbial silk purse made out of a sow's ear and nobody's buying it, including a wide swath of the GOP.

Donald Trump has been praising the new plan as brilliant and has had his staff promoting it alongside various Congressional leaders. By doing so, he's exposed himself once again as a craven liar who said anything to get elected and who is now prepared to shaft the very people he promised to help.

Vox published an excellent article on Friday (link here) with the title "The Republican health plan is a huge betrayal of Trump’s campaign promises -- and Trump’s voters will pay the highest price."

The piece highlights some of Trump's healthcare promises, which turned out to be the exact opposite of what is actually in the proposed law, developed by his White House and Republicans in Congress.

"I am going to take care of everybody," he said during the campaign when vaguely discussing his healthcare plans. "Everybody’s going to be taken care of much better than they’re taken care of now... Insurance for everybody... much lower deductibles... There was a philosophy in some circles that if you can’t pay for it, you don’t get it. That’s not going to happen with us... Every other Republican is going to cut, and even if they wouldn’t, they don’t know what to do because they don’t know where the money is. I do."

That was bold-faced lie after bold-faced lie. More than 10 million people will lose health care coverage under Trumpcare and nearly everyone except the wealthy will be paying much more.

The man shamelessly lied, like the used car salesman who tells you the car will get 30 mph when it actually gets 14 mph. He suckered people into believing him because he's a seasoned con artist, as his scam "Trump University" proved beyond a doubt.

This is why his promises to the LGBT community must be considered worthless. He's proven time and time again he can't be trusted.

a solid, timely piece. the cbo came out with their official numbers today. trumpcare will cause 14 million to lose health insurance - a much higher number than earlier estimates. in a decade the number goes up to 24 million.
