I honestly don't know how to feel about somebody like this. He's not the first "conversion therapist" who later came out and renounced the practice. So he's doing something good by shining a light on how "conversion" is both a scam and harmful.
At the same time, his hypocrisy disgusts me. You can't unring the bell. He made his living off of scamming people with his "therapy" for two decades whilst he knowingly engaged in gay sexual activity himself. He knew no shame.
I just hope now he doesn't try to make a living off of advocating against "conversion therapy." There are far better qualified people who aren't whopping hypocrites who could handle that.
Hopefully Donald Trump's Vice President Michael Pence will see this news. Whilst Indiana's governor, he supported organizations that implemented "conversion therapy" (source here). It's time people like him realize what a dangerous scam this practice is. Better yet, they should speak out against it.
