Ignored

The President's Daily Brief (PDB) is a highly classified, critically important document given to the chief executive each morning. As the Washington Post reported last week (link here), more than a dozen of those daily editions in January and February warned of the coronavirus spread in detail.

Donald Trump, however, didn't read them. As the article notes, he "routinely skips reading the PDB and has at times shown little patience for even the oral summary he takes two or three times per week."

That is a disgrace and a fundamental dereliction of duty. Trump spends countless hours a day watching television yet he can't find the time to read documents critically important for a President.

The consequences of ignoring the PDB are glaringly demonstrated by his failure to grasp this was a historic crisis until well into March, two months after he should have been on the case around-the-clock.

All modern Presidents, including George W. Bush, were voracious readers whilst in office. Except for Trump. He thinks he knows too much to bother reading. The result is that this country has an arrogant, ignorant head of state.

This is yet another reason why he must be replaced on November 3.
