Ignoramus

During the recent G20 summit trip, Donald Trump provided two shining examples of his astounding ignorance.

First, he had no idea what the term Western liberalism means. He wrongly thought it had something to do with political liberals. When asked by a reporter to comment about Vladimir Putin's remarks on the state of Western liberalism, Trump responded with gibberish about Los Angeles and San Francisco being "sad to look at" because they are "run by liberal people" (details here).

One should not be surprised if Trump thought a liberal arts degree had something to do with leftist mural painting.

In another example, once more responding to a reporter's question, Trump thought school busing strictly had to do with transportation needs. "It is certainly a primary method of getting people to schools," he said. He apparently is clueless about how busing was and still is a controversial mainstay of school desegregation and that is what the term exclusively refers to.

This is what you get with a President who doesn't read, who has no knowledge of history, who is proud he was a terrible student, and who gleefully spends much of his time watching junk TV.

Interestingly, both of these examples resulted from reporter interactions. And this is not the first time a question-and-answer with the media has exposed Trump's whopping ignorance.

Perhaps this is really why Trump loathes the media -- it's populated by very smart people who accidentally get him to reveal his extreme ignorance.
