Whether by accident or design, Donald Trump is once again using propaganda tactics much more commonly used by Vladimir Putin. Is he doing this consciously or instinctively? Either answer is disturbing. I suspect its instinctive.
For his part, I think Barr may be acting very nefariously but purposefully. He's a lawyer and knows exactly what he's doing. He's like the trial lawyer who subtly changes public perceptions before the trial begins. You can't have much moral fiber to do things like this.
Barr is turning out to be much more dangerous than heretofore was previously known. This is the man who was writing public memos in defense of Trump on oped pages before he was picked the President. This suggests he ultimately can get the upper hand over Trump, who could easily be manipulated into doing what Barr wants.
