Dumping

Donald Trump is apparently seriously considering dumping incoming migrants in so-called sanctuary cities in retaliation for Democratic opposition to his draconian and often cruel anti-immigration policies (details here).

One of the targeted cities would be San Francisco, home to Democratic House Speaker Nancy Pelosi.

This proposal is both cruel and blatantly illegal. It brings to mind the sort of deliberate cruelty used by dictatorships against targeted individuals, using them as pawns and disregarding their basic dignity.

Trump seems unconcerned about how policies like this are destroying America's stance in the eyes of the world. Then again, with his whole "America first" strategy, it's likely that he doesn't even care.

A reputation, once lost, is not easily recovered.
