The Chicken and the Fox

Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin sat down together the other day. In their session, Putin reportedly told Trump that Russia had nothing to do with trying to disrupt the 2016 election and Trump accepted that as a fact, something the President indirectly confirmed later, notwithstanding mountains of evidence to the contrary.

This makes one wonder, if Trump sat down with Bernie Madoff and the latter said he didn't swindle anyone, would Trump have accepted that as the truth without question? Or if Ted Bundy told Trump he didn't kill anyone, would Trump take him at his word, too, no questions asked?

The meeting over, Trump declared it was time to "move on" from the election tampering issue. Fortunately, the special counsel running the criminal investigation into Trump and his campaign won't be doing that anytime soon. Trump may be trying to sweep this all under the rug, but no one is fooled, except his die-hard supporters with their heads firmly in the sand.

A few hours later, Trump then announced on Twitter: "Putin & I discussed forming an impenetrable Cyber Security unit so that election hacking, & many other negative things, will be guarded."

Republican and Democratic members of Congress in Washington immediately and loudly condemned Trump's proposal as outrageous. One former defense secretary said, "this is like the guy who robbed your house proposing a working group on burglary."

Not only was the idea moronic, such a joint operation would violate a federal law which prohibits the United States government from providing any bilateral military cooperation with Russia, a statute which Trump himself signed into being since becoming President.

This leaves one wondering why Trump would propose such a tone-deaf idea, given he's already under a legal microscope for being too cozy with Russia during the campaign. Was this out of sheer ignorance or was he deliberately trolling his critics, thinking he was in the clear?

Whatever the answer, once again Trump has proven to be his own worst enemy. And, once again, he used Twitter to do that damage.

  1. OMG! If these «black moons» were in the new Star Wars movie, I would love to see it penetrated by my «huge missile».... LOL!!

For your post on «Trumpty Dumpty» I cannot understand that "HE" is still in office in Washington.

Worst, after the G20, can somebody in USA not see how the rest of the group, the «G19», are isolating Trumpty Dumpty and his isolationist policies.

"HE" isn't making «America Great Again», he is withdrawing USA from so many international groups that USA is going to be in BAD, BAD position economically and politically.
The «G19» is already signing many bilateral cooperation acts and USA is exclude of them all.

American jobs are in danger and Trumpty Dumpty is blinded by is one track minded «American jobs for Americans». There will be less more jobs if you can no more trade with the rest of the world.

For the Russia, not surprising with the latest news of Trumpty Dumpty's brother and Jared Kushner's having meetings with some Russians, they are quite in contact with the enemy.

    SAD and BAD..

  2. I made a mistake because it's more the SON of Trumpty Dumpty that met with some Russian diplomates...

This doesn't make it less important but even more embarrassing for his «father».
