She makes a simple but excellent point: many of Donald Trump's major policy stances are premised on lies, which is a highly dangerous position for the United States.
She writes, for instance, "Trump’s immediate pullout from Syria despite the unanimous opposition of his military commanders makes sense only if one accepts the lie that the Islamic State has been defeated."
So he's adopted a dangerous policy in order to service his big lie about ISIS. The policy is not intended to protect the country. The policy is intended to perpetuate his deception.
Then she makes this point: "Trump’s holiday from reality has caused a government shutdown. That move is based on two lies — first, that a wall is a security benefit, and second, that we have an immigration crisis." Again, Trump is deliberately weakening America's safety with a pointless shutdown all in service of his lies.
Dictators like Josef Stalin and Adolph Hitler built many of their policies on lies. But those policies were designed to make their nations stronger and more powerful. Trump is doing the opposite -- everything is about preserving his own scams and damning the country in the process.
