Smells Like Criminal Conspiracy

A court filing in the criminal prosecution of the President's former campaign chairman contains a startling revelation -- Trump's campaign chair was sending polling data to a Russian national who has every appearance of being a spy (details here, here, and here).

Trump has repeatedly claimed his campaign had no contact with nor was engaged in any kind of collusion or criminal conspiracy with any Russians. And now it's been revealed that's exactly what was happening.

At best, Trump can claim he had no knowledge this was going on. That would spare him from criminal liability, but then it makes him look weak and ineffectual that he didn't even know what his campaign chair was up to nor had he established any ethical boundaries. Ignorance is not bliss.

But if Trump was aware this was going on and did nothing to stop it, then this likely opens him up to yet another avenue of criminal prosecution once he leaves office.

This is definitely a development that warrants watching for future developments. Stay tuned.
