Nixonian

Late yesterday, the online magazine Buzzfeed broke the story (link here) that Donald Trump directed his former attorney and fixer Michael Cohen to lie to Congress about the planned Trump Tower Moscow. The article also details how Trump and his family repeatedly lied about the company's business in Russia.

Earlier in the day, several media outlets broke the story (details here) that Trump also directed Cohen to rig several polls early in the primary season during the 2016 campaign to make it appear Trump had more popular support than he actually did.

Remember when Trump bellowed that "polls were rigged" whenever numbers were bad for him? Turns out he knew what he was talking about -- his team was rigging some of those very polls.

Cohen is scheduled to testify in an open hearing before Congress in early February. Hopefully more and more details like this will leak out in advance of his testimony.

With each passing day, Trump is looking increasingly Nixonian. Tricky Dick ordered people to commit perjury. And now it comes out that Trump ordered the same.
