Greenland

A number of times during the past year, Donald Trump has brought up the idea of the United States buying Greenland, according to media reports first published on Thursday (details here).

Not surprisingly, his idea earned scorn and mockery as soon as it was made public, particularly in Denmark, which owns the world's largest island.

Needless to say, both the government of Denmark and the autonomous government of Greenland made it perfectly clear on Friday that no such plan would ever happen.

With the many actual problems facing the United States, many caused by Trump himself, like the disastrous trade war he started, the immigration mess he keeps making worse and worse, gun violence tearing the country apart, it's telling that Trump would even waste a single nanosecond thinking about something as absurd as buying Greenland.
