Ruinous

Business Insider published an interesting piece yesterday (link here) about how American truckers are being hammered by Donald Trump's trade wars, notwithstanding that 75 percent voted for him in 2016.

Quoted in the piece, one trucker said about the President: he "is absolutely a moron. His idiotic ideas will tank the economy even further."

"He has not affected our business in a positive way," said another. "He's killing our business. If consumers aren't buying, then there is no demand. This really isn't about my political leanings — it's pure business."

While seeing someone else suffer is unkind, at the same time it's not like these people weren't warned many times before the election. Repeatedly and repeatedly and repeatedly in 2016. Yet they ignored those warnings.

Hopefully his extreme corruption and chronic incompetence will push them away from voting for him again in 2020. But never underestimate the power of stupid and stubborn.
