The Blame Game

Not surprisingly, Donald Trump's focus in the face of the coronavirus threat has been attempts to make himself look good, as opposed to actually helping patients, while attempting to blame everyone else for his administration's failures.

"The Obama administration made a decision on testing that turned out to be very detrimental to what we're doing," Trump said to the press yesterday. "And we undid that decision a few days ago so that the testing can take place in a much more rapid and accurate fashion."

That is a bold-faced lie. President Obama's administration made no such decision. Even a Republican Senator issued a statement asserting that it was a lie (details here).

Trump's administration has been glacially slow in releasing test kits. There is no centralized kit testing at the CDC, as there has been in the past. Trump is leaving it up to the states to test them, and as a result, faulty kits have been approved.
