What About Pat?

The televangelist and Christian Broadcasting Network founder Pat Robertson has been a tireless Donald Trump booster. He repeatedly endorsed Trump during the campaign and has been a big cheerleader for him since the election.

"I thank God for sending us Christians someone like Donald Trump," Robertson gushed during a January broadcast. "He saved Christianity, which was under threat by the Obama administration" (source here).

During a February broadcast, Robertson claimed anyone who opposed Trump was defying God. "I think, somehow, the Lord’s plan is being put in place for America and these people are not only revolting against Trump, they’re revolting against what God’s plan is for America. These other people have been trying to destroy America" (source here).

In another February broadcast, Pat Robertson warned of witches trying to hex Trump. "I read that a bunch of witches have gotten together to put a curse on Trump, and I think the Christians need to be praying for him to defend him," he said (source here).

It's no surprise then that the thrice-married serial adulterer Trump, who bragged on an open mike about grabbing women's pussies when he sexually assaulted them, has appeared several times on Robertson's broadcasts, basking in his praise.

Robertson also regularly rails against LGBT Americans as Satan's servants determined to destroy America. Just last week on his broadcast, Robertson went on a tear about how gays and lesbians have infiltrated academia, the media, and the entertainment business.

"You figure, lesbians, one percent of the population, homosexuals, two percent of the population," Robertson wailed (link here). "That’s all. That’s statistically all. But they have dominated, dominated the media, they’ve dominated the cultural shift and they have infiltrated the major universities. It’s just unbelievable what’s being done. A tiny, tiny minority makes a huge difference. The majority -- it’s time it wakes up."

And what is the majority supposed to do when it "wakes up"? Ban them from academia, media, and entertainment?

It's worth noting here that the allegedly pro-LGBT Trump has never spoken out against Robertson's LGBT hatred. And it's worth noting how, once again, another LGBT-hater is in Trump's inner circle.

And when Trump signs the hateful anti-LGBT "First Amendment Defense Act," as he has promised to do many times, he'll be "waking up" just like Robertson demanded. And then anti-LGBT discrimination will be legal.

  1. Those extremist Christians in USA are as dangerous as those in Islam.

They are going to destroy any chance you have to emancipate and be part of the «normal» USA society.

They speak of «hate» and are forgetting the most important and unique gospel word of Jesus: LOVE, LOVE even your ennemies.....

Didn't Jesus showed the way in having Mary Magdalena in his most close disciples?
Even on the cross, he forgave the bad man because he asked Jesus to forgive his sins.?

As i always say, as long as in USA you don't separate religion from politics, you'll be going on in circles not getting rid of old ways of thinking.

By now, and mostly since Trumpty Dumpty is in office, exclusion(s) is the main philosophy and politic HE is going to put forward.

HATE, HATE, HATE will not make America great again. It'll show the world that USA is weak and not confident to provide ALL its population with good life conditions and social acceptance.

Sorry but religion did so bad for us in Province of Quebec till the 60's, with the complicity of our provincial government that when we finally got ride of those interfering in our lives, we liberate us from slavery.

Slavery of religion that was a negative influence to forbid many things to us.

Now, in Canada also, religion is no more part of politic spheres of social decisions.
