Yet Another Lie Exposed

Both before and after the election, Donald Trump repeatedly promised that his companies would not engage in any new business transactions with foreign governments while he is President.

Yesterday, the McClatchy news agency broke the story that a large construction company owned by the Chinese government signed a contract after the inauguration to work on the Trump golf club development in Dubai (link here).

In addition to showing Trump's pledge was yet another lie, many legal experts are questioning whether this deal is an unconstitutional violation of the prohibition against foreign emoluments (details here)

The President has already been sued a number of times for potential emolument violations on other deals. Those cases are now pending.

Trump's Chinese government partner has had problems of its own with accusations of corruption in road construction projects over the years. It was subsequently banned from doing any work on World Bank-financed contracts because of this dodgy history.

This latest revelation about yet another Trump lie exposed and its rampant conflict of interest almost certainly will lead to further lawsuits against the President for potentially rampant unconstitutional activity.
