The Attack

Franklin Foer at The Atlantic published a thoughtful piece yesterday (link here) with the title of "How Donald Trump Is Killing Politics" and a secondary title of "Peaceful coexistence requires a system of compromise. Targeting that system is a recipe for violence."

Trump does not see politics as a multiparty system. It's only his way or you're an enemy who hates America. It's the only way he could win in November, by so befouling the process that he's the only one who survives his killer-take-all game.

The fact that he's now openly celebrating and encouraging violence and praising suspected killers is further evidence of this debasement. His war is not only against politics, it's against democracy itself. America is inseparable from democracy but Trump is determined to change that, to the point that he would destroy what makes America work.

So his slogan really shouldn't be "Make America Great Again." It should be "Make America All Mine."

That is why he must be stopped. This is too important an election to ignore or hope it will all work out. Plan now to vote against Trump on November third and start by checking your registration status here.
