But Thursday came and went with no bombshell story. As reporting in the New York Times yesterday reveals (link here), there will be no bombshell because no scandal exists.
White House personnel and Trump surrogates tried to feed the story of an alleged scandal to a Journal reporter. That journalist in turn involved coworkers in digging and found the reality was nothing like what the Trump team was trying to allege.
The Trumpian claim was that the former Vice President had greased the wheels diplomatically so that his son would profit financially by doing so, sharing some of the financial gains with his father.
The reporters, however, discovered that the story was bogus. The only thing they ended up reporting was how the pro-Trump fringe media was pushing the story but that it had no merit.
"Corporate records reviewed by The Wall Street Journal show no role for Joe Biden," the paper reported.
The great irony to all this is that while Trump and his intermediaries were trying to fabricate a scandal that the former Vice President had profited from his position, Trump himself has made millions profiting from his position as President.
What he has done in reality is far worse than the fake scandal he tried to create about Joe Biden.
Project much Donny?
