As the link above notes, the connections between Trump and Epstein are extensive. A woman has accused Trump of raping her in 1994 at one of Epstein's parties. Another woman has alleged she was recruited at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago to be Epstein’s "sex slave." Trump's Labor Secretary has been accused of burying Epstein's crimes when the former was a prosecutor.
Yes, Epstein has been tied to some famous Democrats, too, including Bill Clinton. But Clinton knew Epstein before he was accused of any crime and had no further dealings with him well before he was first charged. And Clinton's connection was philanthropic, not social, unlike Trump.
Not surprisingly, the White House is trying to downplay Trump's connection, claiming the two did not have a social friendship, notwithstanding that photos exist on the Internet of the two posing and partying together.
This will very much be a developing story and something to watch in coming weeks and days. The charges against Epstein are much more serious now than before and open a new and potentially dangerous scandal for Trump.
