Lie for Me

Early last week, the New York Times reported (link here) that Donald Trump's reelection campaign had commissioned a seventeen-state poll that showed horrible numbers for the President and that he would badly lose if the race was held today. Trump told his campaign aides to lie to the media and say the polling showed he would win.

And then ABC leaked the poll results themselves on Friday (link here). Indeed, they were horrible. Trump would badly lose in key states like Pennsylvania and Michigan, which he won in 2016. It even showed him barely winning Texas.

The Trump people rushed a new excuse to the media. The poll was "ancient" they declared. But it's actually only two months old and other national polls show Trump's numbers have slipped since then.

The Trump campaign then announced new polling showed Trump winning easily. But they refused to share those polls with the media.

Yet they expect us to believe them.

As if.
