Pathetic

Donald Trump is now pathetically attempting to walk back his disastrous performance in Helsinki on Monday, claiming that he "misspoke" and meant to say "wouldn't" instead of "would" when he denied Russia directly meddled in the 2016 American election (details here).

Now some of his idiot supporters might buy this, but the rest of what he said during his joint press conference with Vladimir Putin proves this gibberish about he "misspoke" is nothing more than a steaming pile of horseshit. On Monday, during the live press conference, Trump praised Putin for his -- and this is a direct quote -- "extremely strong and powerful" denial of 2016 Russian interference (source here).

Once again, Trump is trying to lie his way around something he has been filmed saying. If he actually believes he didn't say this, then he's delusional and/or addled by creeping dementia.

Given how Trump is such a prolific liar, this is not likely. More likely he'll just try to bullshit his way through his past lies with new lies.

Republicans have pretty widely condemned Trump for his behavior on Monday, with harsh words coming from even some of his closest allies. So, okay Republicans, the ball is in your court -- what are you going to do about it?
