The Scam

Last week, a judge sentenced Donald Trump to a $2 million fine for using his charity for non-charitable purposes. As part of the proceedings, Trump admitted to using the charity for self-dealing and to benefit his presidential campaign, both forbidden by law (details here).

This grew out of proceedings initiated by the New York state attorney general.

In typical Trumpian fashion, he has now claimed he was the innocent victim of a political prosecution, notwithstanding he voluntarily signed an admission of guilt.

He is also blatantly lying in an attempt to hide the severity of his punishment (details here). He is claiming "all they found was incredibly effective philanthropy and some small technical violations, such as not keeping board minutes."

Nothing could be further from the truth.

Trump has repeatedly demanded that the American people believe him when he claims he did nothing impeachable in the Ukrainian scandal. He doesn't seem to grasp how his credibility is a laughingstock when he's been caught so many times in outrageous lies, like we see with his scam charity here.
