The Fixer

Yesterday, the Washington Post reported that a plan is coming together to defeat coronavirus in the United States (details here).

And that plan specifically excludes Donald Trump.

Instead, it's being shepherded by governors, past and present, former administration officials, and business leaders. And no Trump nor anyone from the White House.

Remember when Trump stood up at the 2016 Republican National Convention and gave his "I alone can fix that" speech?

It turns out, he can't fix jack shit.

In the 1960s, President Lyndon Johnson famously chose not to run for reelection because, amongst other reasons, he realized new leadership was needed to pull America out of the Vietnam quagmire. He was not up to the task.

This is a precedent Trump should follow. But of course he won't.

So good luck to the ad hoc group working for a solution. They give us reasons to hope.
