Yet Again

On Monday night, Axios and the New York Times concurrently published articles (links here and here) about how a "top White House adviser starkly warned Trump administration officials in late January that the coronavirus crisis could cost the United States trillions of dollars and put millions of Americans at risk of illness or death."

Yet Donald Trump did nothing and continued to lie to the American people about the severity of the virus and its affect on ordinary American life. And this was only one of many warnings made known to Trump in early 2020, who ignored them all.

The memo was written by Peter Navarro, Trump's trade adviser, and represents "the highest-level alert known to have circulated inside the West Wing." Trump is widely known to be substantially reliant on Navarro and speaks to him multiple times a day.

Navarro then went on to circulate a second memo a month later with even more dire predictions.

And that was ignored, too. While Trump continued to lie to America and the world about the seriousness of the threat.

The House of Representatives has formed a special committee that will investigate and report on the Trump administrations extreme ineptitude in confronting this crisis. Hopefully they will hold public hearings on this, the closer to the election the better.
