The Name

In a blatant attempt to use public resources as a campaign vehicle, Donald Trump's name will appear on all of the economic stimulus checks being mailed in forthcoming weeks to tens of millions of Americans (details here).

To add insult to injury, the initial batch of three million checks may be delayed to accommodate this last-minute change.

Notwithstanding the stimulus was cobbled together and approved by a bipartisan Congress, Trump clearly is attempting to fool people into thinking he alone is responsible for the checks. To further this sham, he also wanted his personal signature to appear on each of the checks; however, that proved not legally possible because he's not a signatory on the paying account.

There is no depth to which Trump will not stoop to promote himself. Some people are desperately awaiting these checks and to delay them in order to fluff Trump's ego is truly disgusting.

The Democratic House should sue to force Trump's campaign to bear the entire cost of production and mailing what is, in effect, campaign literature. That would immediately bankrupt his reelection coffers.
