Too Slow

According to a poll released yesterday by the prestigious Pew Research Center, 65 percent of Americans — nearly two-thirds of American adults — now believe Donald Trump "was too slow to take major steps to address the threat to the United States when cases of [coronavirus] were first reported in other countries" (details here).

Nearly the same percent believe the country will be rushed into resuming normal life too soon, both suggesting a fundamental distrust of Trump and a deep concern about the virus. And nearly three fourths of Americans believe the worst is still to come in the coronavirus scare.

This underscores the fact that the public is not being fooled by Trump's attempts to look like he's been on top of the problem. And it also provides proof that Trump's reelection chances indeed are bleak (details here).
