Seditious Abuse

I mentioned in a previous post the Texas case, attempting to overturn the election, that was filed in the US Supreme Court earlier this week. Donald Trump's attorneys are attempting to join this case on Texas's side.

Legal experts uniformly agree the matter has no chance of lasting long before being tossed out, and the Supreme Court's prompt and unanimous dismissal of another election case foreshadows its all but certain outcome.

What has angered many people, both Republicans and Democrats, is how Trump, his campaign, and certain Republicans have been completely contemptuous of the legal process simply in an attempt to delegitimize President-elect Joe Biden's win. This is a lot more than them just acting like sore losers.

Law and Crime published a succinct news piece yesterday (link here) about one of the blistering legal filings before the Supreme Court in opposition to the pro-Trump petition. It also nicely explains the litigation itself.

From the article: "Pennsylvania Attorney General Josh Shapiro (D) said Texas’ attempt to invalidate the commonwealth’s election results through [the Supreme Court] amounts to a 'seditious abuse of the judicial process' that should never again be repeated. Shapiro and the commonwealth said that [the] Trump campaign and its allies have 'flooded' the courts with 'frivolous' lawsuits for more than a month — all with the goal of undermining the legitimacy of Biden’s win."

Indeed, as of today, Trump and his allies have lost fifty-five times in their ludicrous attempt to overturn the election.
