Speechless

On Satuday, the New York Times published an article (link here) with the title "Republicans Find Themselves Speechless Following a Supreme Court Defeat" and the secondary deck title of "a ruling against Trump appears to leave no avenue forward for the President, forcing Republicans to 'play the hand we’re dealt.'"

During the past week, Donald Trump openly all but assured his supporters that the Supreme Court would upend the election he lost and instead declare him the winner because of a case he called "the big one."

Legal experts and ordinary lawyers around the country, however, were confident the long-shot mess submitted to the Supreme Court would soon be tossed, which it was, a development that came as no surprise to the majority of Americans who live outside the Trump bubble.

Reality has now hit many if not most Trump supporters square in the face like a sonic boom — the President has been lying to you all along. He and his allies have lost fifty-nine separate lawsuits alleging fraud for which they provided zero evidence. The only lawsuit they won saw a change of a few dozen votes, not because of fraud, but because of a minor technicality.

Some Trump supporters vow to fight on. That is futile. They might as well drive to the ocean and shout at the tide to turn back. It will have the same results.
