we are honored to be in their magnificent presence

Self Portraits by Lars
Lars is a German photographer now living in New York. He loves to photograph himself and post the results on the internet.
Lars is leaner than the men I favor these days, but I like him nonetheless. He looks quite a lot like a past boyfriend of mine who was very sweet and a great lover but a complete and total flake.
Lucien, who never misses a step, seems to have been distracted by an errant coffee ground on this one. The prone ass self-portrait was instantly assimilated into the iconography of our time, for which the earlier sets, in T-shirted contortions with sneakers or boots, set the stage, but almost too prolifically. Perhaps it is the number of these images which supports Lucien's complaint of solipsism, more than their self-snapping aspect.
This blog is a celebration of masculinity, a tribute to the gods who walk amongst us. They are typically gorgeous, haughty, unapproachable, sometimes arrogant, and often unfortunately straight. They know we are watching them, but they usually ignore us. When they grace us with a smile, a slight nod, a word or two, we are exalted to be in their presence.
